Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
MogComp ("MogComp", "we", "us", or "our") operates the MogComp website and service (the "Service"). This Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights available to you. By uploading photos, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here and in our Terms of Use.
This Service is not intended for anyone under 18. If you are under 18, do not use the Service or submit any photo of yourself or anyone else. We do not knowingly collect data from minors, and we will delete any account or data we discover belongs to a minor.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account information
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store your name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile photo URL as returned by Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
1.2 Photos and facial analysis data
To use the core comparison feature, you upload two photos containing human faces. Uploaded photos, and any facial geometry, landmarks, or attributes derived from them, may constitute "biometric" or "facial recognition" data under certain U.S. state laws (e.g., Illinois BIPA, Texas CUBI, Washington's biometric privacy law) and under GDPR "special category" data rules in the EU/UK. We process this data solely to generate your comparison score and report. We do not use uploaded photos to build a searchable face database, to identify you across other services, or to sell or license biometric identifiers to third parties.
Photos are stored on private, non-public server storage and are only accessible through your own authenticated session or your unique, unguessable result link. Derived results (numeric scores, attribute breakdowns, estimated age/gender) are stored alongside the photos so your comparison history can be displayed back to you.
1.3 Device and usage data
Even before you sign in, we assign your browser an anonymous device identifier (stored in a cookie) to enforce free-usage limits and prevent abuse. We also log standard technical data such as IP address, user agent, session identifiers, and timestamps of activity.
1.4 Payment data
If you purchase credits, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, CVC, or bank details. We retain only the transaction metadata Stripe provides us (e.g., a session/payment identifier, amount, currency, and status) to reconcile your purchase and grant credits.
2. Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following sub-processors to operate the Service. Each receives only the data necessary to perform its function, under its own privacy policy and security practices, which we do not control:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Sign-In / OAuth) | Account authentication | OAuth authorization code; receives your Google profile (name, email, photo, account ID) in return |
| Google (Gemini) and/or OpenAI (GPT) | AI-based visual facial-attractiveness analysis (vision model) | The uploaded photo (sent directly to the configured model provider for analysis) |
| Face++ (Megvii, Inc.) | Trained facial "beauty"/attribute model and landmark detection | The uploaded photo. Face++'s infrastructure may process data outside your home country. |
| Betaface | Trained facial attractiveness classifier (used only if enabled) | The uploaded photo |
| Stripe, Inc. | Payment processing | Your payment details (collected directly by Stripe, not by us), billing email |
Only the analysis provider(s) currently enabled on the Service receive your photo; we do not send your photo to every provider listed above on every request. We may add, remove, or change AI sub-processors over time to improve accuracy; this Policy will be updated accordingly, and the obligations above apply to whichever provider is active at the time of your use.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the comparison and scoring feature;
- To authenticate you and maintain your account and credit balance;
- To process payments and prevent fraudulent transactions;
- To enforce free-tier limits and prevent abuse of the Service across devices;
- To monitor, debug, and improve the reliability and accuracy of the Service;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms; and
- In de-identified or aggregated form (e.g., score distributions), to analyze and improve our scoring models. Aggregated data does not identify you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
We retain account data and comparison history for as long as your account is active, so your results and history remain available to you. You may permanently delete individual comparisons, or your entire account and all associated photos and results, at any time from your Profile page. Deletion removes the photos from our storage and the corresponding database records; this action is immediate and cannot be undone by us.
Anonymous, device-only usage (before sign-in) is retained on a rolling basis tied to the device identifier and is not linked to your identity unless you sign in. Transaction records related to payments may be retained longer where required for accounting, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes, consistent with applicable law.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, or to object to certain processing.
- Access / export: your comparison history is visible in your account at any time.
- Deletion: self-service deletion is available on your Profile page, or contact us using the details below.
- Withdraw consent: you may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time; this does not affect processing already completed.
We will respond to verifiable requests within the time required by applicable law.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie (to keep you signed in) and a device-identifier cookie (to track free-usage limits for not-yet-signed-in visitors). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
7. International Data Transfers
Our sub-processors operate infrastructure in multiple countries, which may include the United States and other jurisdictions outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) for such transfers.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your data, including storing uploaded photos on non-public storage accessible only via authenticated requests or an unguessable link. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account and device secure.
9. AI-Generated Results Disclaimer
Scores, ratings, attribute breakdowns, and "potential" estimates are generated by automated, third-party AI/ML models and reflect statistical patterns in those models' training data, not an objective or professional assessment of any individual. Results are provided for entertainment and informational purposes only, may be inaccurate, biased, or offensive, and should not be relied upon for any medical, psychological, employment, or other consequential decision. We disclaim liability for any reliance placed on such results to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and, where required by law, we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
11. Contact Us
Questions about this Policy or requests regarding your data can be sent to privacy@mogcomp.com.
